Welcome to Troop 658!

CELEBRATING 95 YEARS OF SCOUTING SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITIES!

Boy Scout Troop 658 has served youth from Winooski, Colchester, Burlington, South Burlington, Milton, Essex Jct. and the surrounding communities since 1923.  We offer exciting, adventure based programs for boys ages 11-17. We meet Sunday evenings at Saint Francis Xavier School from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm.  Visit us and see for yourself what a difference you can make in the life of a young man.

Scouting's Journey to Excellence" is the BSA's council performance recognition program designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of our units. It is meant to encourage excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.  We are proud to be a "Gold" level unit for 8 years running.

Summer Camp Option

IT WON’T SMELL LIKE WOOD SMOKE, BUT IT’S STILL SCOUT CAMP

Green Mountain Council is excited to join the Cradle of Liberty Council (Philadelphia) for their 2020 Scouts BSA virtual summer camp! While virtual events will never replace what we could have done in a week at Mount Norris, we are enthusiastically endorsing this high-quality experience that includes both virtual and offline camp activities and extensive merit badge offerings.

Virtual Camp @ Resica Falls runs weekly through the first week of August. Registration has to occur two weeks before the session begins, and merit badge class size is limited, so you need to HURRY: last day to register is July 19.

Access to a week of camp-wide activities, the ability to take up to six merit badges--there are 38 available, many with no prerequisites--and the Camp Welcome Box with patch and program materials, will cost $175. Options include a first-year camper program that balances rank advancement (to first class), merit badges, and the fun of camp.

Register as an individual or as a Troop. For a very nominal fee, there’s even a program of training and camp experiences (and a patch!) for adult leaders.

To register, to view the Camp Guide, and for more details, go to

Who Wants to go to summer camp in California, Arizona, Utah, Florida or many other States

Guess What?

We can't travel to Mt Norris for a great week of summer camp, but YOU can still go to a Scout Summer camp - All across the country!!!

A number of councils are sponsoring Virtual summer camps!!

Grab a scouting Friend, pick a camp and signup today!

https://www.scouting.org/outdoor-programs/virtual-camps/?utm_source=scou...

ALL registration will be handled on-line by individual families and we ask scouts to communicate with the SPL- Rory and Mr Parascando so we can track "where" our scouts are travelling.

To have qualified nights of camping all virtual camping nights must be part of a BSA unit-organized unit camping event (i.e., multiple members of the unit are involved and camping simultaneously at remote locations).  Organize your patrol or a number of patrol members together for the same camp and campout while going to camp.
